Students joined Travelstart’s AI Innovation Lab to explore how artificial intelligence can transform marketing processes. The project focused on researching and testing AI tools, producing strategic insights, and delivering practical solutions to enhance workflows, creativity, and performance.

Industry: Beauty Tech/ESG SaaS

Prim-U is an innovative platform that connects clients to vetted beauty and wellness freelancers, or “Primlancers,” for at-home services booked in minutes via computer, phone, or tablet.

Project & KPIs:

Students were tasked with supporting Prim-U’s expansion into trading raw cosmetics ingredients across European and African markets. The project involves analysing product–market fit, segmenting customers, and identifying strategic opportunities for international growth. Interns will select two priority markets for geographic expansion and develop an actionable entry.

Now Boarding specializes in crafting world-class experiences across various sectors, including fintech, cryptocurrency, insurance, education, marketplaces, and B2B domains.

Project & KPIs:

Students worked with the Now Boarding founding team to investigate new countries to expand their services to remotely, taking advantage of exchange rates and the ability to consult with clients globally from Cape Town, with its exceptional talent pool.

SA biotech startup, formerly AxaiTech, accelerating discovery-to-treatment through proteomics and genomics with CPGR. Focused on personalized cancer and complex disease treatments.

Conduct a literature review of peptide biochemistry; curate a dataset; propose a predictive modeling approach; begin model implementation; prepare a presentation on research, dataset, and modeling plan.

Project & KPIs:

Students worked with RCSC as it prepared for strategic expansion in the retirement sector. Using the company’s business overview and operational materials, they analysed market positioning, opportunity gaps, and scalability.

  • Head teacher: Learn from an industry expert with 8–12 years of experience, bringing deep knowledge and firsthand insights into the classroom.

  • Two teaching assistants: Gain additional support from two teaching assistants with 3–8 years of industry experience to help guide your learning journey.

  • Introduction to padel: Try your hand at padel, a fast-paced sport similar to pickleball but with its own twist.
