Viridian provides business consulting and education services to meet the needs of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sub-Saharan Africa. With over 50 years of combined experience in early-stage investing, social enterprise, tech startups, content production and programme delivery, they deliver a variety of business consulting services, workshops, mentoring, and fund-raising services. They work with development agencies, government departments and corporates to realize their entrepreneurial support and impact strategies.

We know that access to early-stage angel and seed funding is still a barrier to growth for many entrepreneurs across the continent. We also know that active angel investors are proving critical to plugging the gap, which will, in turn, lead to the kind of growth we need to see across the ecosystem. Our very own African Angel Academy, an investor training programme, is passionate about empowering emerging angel investors with the know-how, networks and opportunities needed for active investment in local startups. iXperience interns joined us to build on our strategies, and they were eager and hungry to learn.

What makes our company unique when compared to teams performing a similar capability in other companies is that we place more emphasis on the algorithmic and theoretical knowledge. Practically, while SQL and other database management skills are necessary, those skills are assumed rather than celebrated, whereas implementing a bleeding edge version of XGBoost or having a new insight into an algorithm is celebrated.
