Problem Definition & Structure
Apply the SMART criteria to potential client problems and break issues down into manageable pieces.
Interview Prep
Get to know the different kinds of interviews in the consulting industry and how to ace each of them.
Learn about the recruiting cycle and the expectations of candidates, as well as the science and art of networking. You’ll get to grips with how to approach a market sizing question, role play a case interview and understand the common types of frameworks for them. You’ll learn the role of behavioral interview and apply some key principles to common behavioral interview questions.
Presentation Skills
Develop client-ready slides and deliver them in a compelling way.
Much of the first week of the course will be dedicated to learning how to communicate (in written and verbal format). Create a storyline and translate it into a storyboard to explain the difference between a good and bad management consulting slide. Understand the importance of drawing slides on paper first, then building a slide in PowerPoint. You’ll also learn strategies used in the industry today on how to present with impact.
Quick Iteration
Draft a first version of work quickly and improve it through multiple rounds of feedback.
You’ll learn the methodologies of moving through the project definition, scoping, analysis and execution stages. Then, towards the end of the course, you’ll learn the difference between a hazard and a risk and how to create an effective risk mitigation plan. You’ll define next steps over multiple time horizons and at different levels of granularity.
Fact-based Varied Analysis
Identify actionable insights through key quantitative and qualitative techniques.
In the second week of the course, you’ll learn to define what qualitative analysis is, explain some of the common techniques and leverage them. Along with classmates, you’ll identify suitable benchmark companies and comparison facts, select the right visual structure to present the benchmarking exercise and derive insights from it.
Workplanning
Outline the activities, timing and responsibility that are needed per prioritized deliverable and update.
