On a personal level, I was able to connect with students in the class, especially those in my project group...
Professionally, I gained a lot of new tools that I could potentially use in future classes/employment opportunities. As a computer science student that had never used Python in a professional setting, much less in combination with statistical practices, I felt that my experience was very insightful and provided me with a lot of new tools that I could use later in my career.

I can actually do data science now! I didn't know anything going into this, but now I can go forth and build my own projects...
Going into the program, I knew absolutely nothing about data science, but I came out with essential data science skills like being able to implement and use machine learning models and visualize data in creative ways. The internship was even more valuable than class due to its hands-on environment: I even learned more specific skills like parallelization of code in Python and cloud computing using Google Cloud Platform's Compute Engine.
