Yellow Solar Power is a start-up bringing high quality power to Malawi. Products include pay-as-you-go solar lighting, charging and entertainment. Yellow’s Malawi operation is the country’s largest retailer of PAYGO solar home systems, revolutionising access to energy in the country. The iX interns worked on preparation for capital raising, conducting an analysis of some of Yellow’s competitors.
The students conducted market research, and the Peer Group Analysis portion of the Investment Finance course served to be extremely valuable in evaluating Yellow’s current performance and growth opportunities. Ultimately, this research added immense value to Yellow’s management, as it served to provide them with insight into their market, which will, therefore, help them develop a competitive pricing model.
